Wine Appreciation

KEC Toh Yuen Chinese Restaurant incorporated with Nam Lee Cheong organize a Wine Appreciation Night on Saturday 28 May 2011.  The dinner complete with special dishes pair with high quality fine chinese wine made in China.  Normally chinese dinner set are so common with nine set of dish especially for Chinese wedding.  During this wine appreciate night dinner my friends and I enjoy the most free flow of chinese fine wine ShaoXing from 5, 8, 10, 15, 20 & 30 years and such a unique fine dish 7 individual set at Toh Yuen Chinese Restaurant in Bandar Baru Klang.

The programme start with introduction of the Shao Xing history and manufacturing.  Follow by first wine tasting of Porcelain Series Bottle Guard 5 years pair with Hand Roll Australia Abalone and Salmon Sashimi.  It is so flesh and yummy.

Second dish, they serve Double Boiled Golden Shark's Fin Soup with Bamboo Fish and Black Bean pair with National Banquet 8 years.  The taste like Buddha Jumped Over the Wall so thick and full expensive ingredient.

Third dish, Stewed Drunken Chicken pair with Porcelain Series Vase 10 years.  The wine taste so different from the 8 years wine its taste smoother and sweet.  It is so tasty match with Drunken Chicken.

Fourth dish, Braised Superior Sea Cucumber with Goose Web and Golden Bean Curd pair with National Banquet 15 years.  The wine taste very strong.  Very nice presented, the goose is nice and soft the sea cucumber has been absorb with tasty gravy.  This is my first time trying goose. The fourth dish already make me so filling.  It is worth it this set of menu.

Fifth dish, Grilled Cod Fish with Rosemary pair with National Banquet 20 years.  The wine the more older the taste better.  Dont' feel like want to drink the 5 - 15 years wine.  The fish is fresh and the creamy so smooth and tasty.

Sixth dish, Baked Rice in Crab Shell pair with National Banquet 30 years.  The wine colour darker and stronger.  I'm so glad the baked rice is small otherwise I can't finish it so waste.  It is so creative the rice are in the crab shell baked with cheese.

At last but not least, the seventh dish is a desert Sweet pumpkin with Gan Kon Mai and coconut milk pair with collection series Dijutang 8 years.  Nice desert not too sweet and creamy.

This is my first time having wine appreciation night dinner and its so impressive.  My friend and I love to travel around to find delicious food and to share with everybody.  We wish to have another wine appreciation dinner like this.  The price is reasonable and affordable only RM100 per person.  It is really worth it.
